The MOT is one of the few jobs where the price is set before your vehicle arrives, so that is exactly how we quote it. One fixed figure for a Class 4 test, the same for everybody, with nothing added on afterwards. Ring us and we will tell you what it is.
If your vehicle fails, we will tell you what failed, what the repair involves and what it will cost before anybody picks up a spanner. You are free to take the vehicle elsewhere for the work, and you will not be charged for advice you did not ask for. Where we do carry out the repair, the retest is handled here as part of the same visit.
An MOT should take an hour of your day, not a week of chasing.
You drop the vehicle with us at the booked time and we get straight on with the test. A Class 4 MOT covers cars, small vans and camper vans up to 3,000kg, and the inspection runs through brakes, steering, suspension, tyres, lights, exhaust emissions, the structure of the vehicle and everything else on the DVSA list. Nothing is skipped and nothing is padded out.
When the test is done we go through the certificate with you properly. A pass with advisories is the most common result, and advisories matter, because they are the tester telling you what is going to fail next year. We will tell you which ones need booking in soon and which ones can genuinely wait, rather than turning the whole list into a bill.
If something fails, you get a straight explanation of what it is and why it did not pass, followed by a price for putting it right. Because the workshop is on the same site as the test bay, a failure usually means one visit rather than two, and the retest happens here once the work is finished.

Around an hour for the test itself on most vehicles. If you are waiting rather than leaving the vehicle with us, say so when you book and we will give you a slot that suits.

You can test up to a month minus a day before the current certificate runs out and keep the same expiry date, so there is no reason to leave it to the last week. Ring us with your expiry date and we will find you a slot.
We are a Class 4 test centre, so anything above 3,000kg needs a Class 7 station. Ring us with the vehicle details and we will tell you straight away whether it fits.
